Rutger Hauer

I was planning to take the week off, but then the news broke that Rutger Hauer had passed so I figures I’d pay him a tribute.

Turkish Delight (1973)
No one does ugly quite as beautiful as Paul Verhoeven. Brave and fascinating performances by Rutger Hauer and Monique van de Ven.
Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in 1973.

Ladyhawke (1985)
I had a hard time getting trough this, which is a shame considering it has a good story and engaging Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer, but everything else is pretty bad, especially the tone-deaf soft rock soundtrack and Matthew Broderick.
Nominated for Best Sound and Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing in 1986.
